More customers from Google. Built in St. Pete, for St. Pete.

SEO, AI search, websites, and now custom AI automations for local businesses. No 12-month contracts, no jargon, no junior account managers. Just the playbook from one of St. Pete's biggest online success stories, applied to yours.

$1,500, credited to your first month. Two-week turnaround.

Zach Wendkos, founder of Wavelength

Who you're working with

I'm Zach. I spent nearly two decades growing a St. Pete startup into a global online business.

I joined a local company in its early days and helped build it from startup through a successful exit, growing it into a business that serves more than 3 million customers worldwide. The work comes down to one thing: turning Google searches, websites, and email into paying customers, millions of times over.

Now I take that same playbook and apply it to a small number of local businesses. Not an agency with 40 clients and a rotating cast of account managers. One operator, a handful of clients, done properly.

New for 2026

AI automations: the work your team dreads, done in minutes.

The same AI systems I build and run at day-job scale, now built for local businesses. Client reports, proposals, research, follow-ups: if your team does it every week, it can probably run itself.

Hours become minutes

A client reporting engine that pulls your real numbers and writes the monthly recap in your voice. Three hours becomes three minutes, every month, forever.

Connected to your tools

Not a chatbot in a browser tab. These systems plug into your email, files, and data, and run on a schedule without anyone pressing a button.

Yours, documented

You own the system. I build it, test it on your real work, document it in plain English, and train your team to run it.

The problem

Sound familiar?

Invisible on the map

Someone searches "your service near me" and finds three competitors. You're on page two, where nobody has ever scrolled.

A website that never rings the phone

It looked great when it launched. But visitors can't find your number in ten seconds on their phone, so they hit the back button and call someone else.

Reports instead of results

You've paid an agency before. You got a monthly PDF full of charts, a check-in call that always had a new face on it, and a phone that stayed quiet.

Invisible to AI, too

Your customers are starting to ask ChatGPT and Claude who to call, and those tools have never heard of you. The businesses they recommend are the ones that did the visibility work.

The process

Three steps. No mystery.

1

Audit

A full teardown of your website, your Google presence, and the competitors beating you. You'll see exactly where customers are leaking out, in plain English and dollar terms.

2

Roadmap

A prioritized plan, ranked by what will make your phone ring soonest. It's yours to keep and execute with anyone, including without me.

3

Monthly execution

If we're a fit, I run the plan. Fixed scope, a real monthly report you'll actually read, and one strategy call a month. You run your business; I'll handle Google.

Plans

Simple plans, honest prices.

Every engagement starts with the audit. Retainers are month to month after an initial 90 days, because the work compounds and you should judge it on results, not contracts.

Foundation

$1,750/month

For the business that's invisible online. The essentials, done right.

  • Google Business Profile management
  • Review generation system
  • Core website fixes
  • Monthly local content
  • Plain-English monthly report

Fractional CMO

from $5,000/month

A senior operator on your team, without the payroll. Limited to two clients.

  • Everything in Growth
  • Paid media oversight
  • Vendor management
  • Monthly leadership call

No setup fees. No surprise invoices. If a plan stops making sense for your business, we part as friends.

Proof

The receipts.

~20 yrs

running digital growth in St. Petersburg

4

client seats, total. Small on purpose.

Case studies from local clients are coming as engagements wrap. In the meantime, the audit itself is the proof: you'll know within two weeks whether I see things others missed.

Start with the audit.

$1,500 flat. Two weeks. A graded scorecard, a competitor teardown, and a prioritized roadmap that's yours no matter what. If we work together within 30 days, the full $1,500 comes off your first month.

Services

Three plans. Fixed scope. No surprises.

Every engagement starts with the Growth Audit, because I don't prescribe before diagnosing. After that, pick the plan that matches where your business is. All plans are month to month after an initial 90 days.

Foundation

$1,750/month

You do great work, but Google doesn't know it. Foundation fixes the fundamentals that decide whether you appear when customers search.

  • Google Business Profile management: categories, photos, posts, Q&A, and the details that decide map rankings
  • A review generation system your team can run in five minutes per job
  • Core website fixes: speed, mobile experience, titles, and structure
  • One piece of local content targeting a service customers actually search for
  • A plain-English monthly report: what happened, what it means, what's next

Best for: newer businesses, businesses that have never invested in marketing, or anyone whose audit scorecard comes back with more than one F.

Fractional CMO

from $5,000/month

Everything above, plus me functioning as your marketing department: strategy, oversight, and accountability across every channel you use.

  • Everything in Growth
  • Paid media strategy and oversight (you fund the ad spend; I make sure it isn't wasted)
  • Vendor and contractor management: designers, ad specialists, whoever the plan requires
  • A monthly leadership call: pipeline, priorities, and the numbers that matter
  • A direct line for decisions that can't wait for the monthly call

Best for: businesses doing $2M+ that have outgrown DIY marketing but aren't ready for a full-time hire. Limited to two clients at any time.

What every plan includes

No long contracts

Month to month after the first 90 days. The 90 days exists because SEO compounds, and judging it at week three helps nobody.

No setup fees

The audit already did the setup thinking.

A report you'll actually read

One page, plain English, revenue-focused. The data lives in an appendix for whenever you want it.

One point of contact

Me. There is no account manager to be reassigned away from you.

Filters, not fine print

What I don't do

Social media management

Posting isn't marketing. If your customers search for what you sell, we'll win them where they search.

Guaranteed rankings

Anyone who guarantees a #1 spot on Google is lying to you. I guarantee the work, the reporting, and the honesty about what's working.

Lead-gen miracles by Friday

SEO compounds over months. If you need calls this week, that's a paid ads conversation, and I'll tell you whether it's worth having.

Questions owners actually ask

Can I skip the audit and go straight to a retainer?

No, and you wouldn't want to. The audit is what makes the first 90 days efficient instead of exploratory. You'd pay more to learn less.

What happens after the initial 90 days?

We look at the scoreboard together. Most clients continue month to month. Some downshift to Foundation once the heavy lifting is done. That's a success, not a churn problem.

Who does the actual work?

I do. For specialized execution (design, ad management at the CMO tier), I bring in specialists I've vetted, under my direction and quality control. Nothing ships without my review.

Do you offer one-off projects, like just a website rebuild?

Occasionally, when the audit shows that's genuinely the main problem. Priced by scope after the audit.

Why is the roster capped?

Because the alternative is the agency model you've already been burned by. Fewer clients, senior attention, better results. When I'm full, the site says so and I keep a short waitlist.

The first step is the same for everyone.

Two weeks, $1,500, credited to your first month. You'll know exactly where you stand and exactly what to do, whichever plan (or no plan) comes next.

New for 2026

The work your team dreads every week, done in minutes.

Custom AI automations for Tampa Bay businesses. Client reports, proposals, research, follow-ups: designed around your workflow, connected to your tools, and running on a schedule.

20 minutes. If automation isn't the right move for your business yet, I'll say so on the call.

The gap

You know AI should be saving you time. It isn't.

Most businesses have tried ChatGPT or Claude, gotten a generic answer, and gone back to doing everything by hand. The problem isn't the AI. It's that nobody set it up properly: no context about your business, no connection to your tools, no reliable process. That setup is the work, and it's what I do.

The Friday afternoon report

Someone on your team spends three hours per client per month assembling numbers and writing the recap. Multiply that across the roster and it's a part-time job.

The proposal that takes a week

Every proposal is 80% the same as the last one, and it still takes days to get out the door while the prospect cools off.

The research nobody has time for

Competitor moves, market shifts, homework before a big call. Valuable, obvious, and permanently at the bottom of the list.

The inbox that runs your day

The same fifteen questions arrive every week, and someone senior answers each one by hand, every single time.

What I build

Systems, not chatbots.

Every build is designed around your actual workflow, trained on your voice and quality standards, connected to the tools you already use, and tested on your real work before handoff.

Client reporting engine

Pulls your real numbers, writes the monthly narrative in your voice, and outputs a finished report. Three hours becomes three minutes.

Proposal and SOP generator

Turns a call transcript or a few bullet points into a polished, on-brand proposal or process doc, formatted and ready to send.

Research briefings

A scheduled brief on your competitors, your market, or your prospects, delivered to your inbox before you think to ask.

Content repurposer

One piece of source material becomes the email, the social posts, and the blog draft, each in the right format and the right voice.

Email response drafter

Drafts replies to routine messages in your team's own words, so a human reviews and sends instead of writing from scratch.

Meeting prep

Before every important call, a one-page brief on who you're meeting, what's changed since last time, and what to bring up.

Those are the common ones. The discovery call usually surfaces two or three I haven't listed, because every business has its own version of the Friday afternoon report.

Why me

I don't just sell this. I run it.

These aren't systems I learned from a YouTube course. They're the systems I build and run every week at day-job scale, inside a business serving more than 3 million customers: automated reporting, scheduled research briefings, and content pipelines connected directly to live ad platforms and data. Wavelength brings those same builds to businesses here at home, sized and priced for a local team.

How it works

1

Book a free discovery call

20 minutes. Bring the task your team complains about most. I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth automating, what it would cost, and what the payback looks like in hours.

2

I build and test

A two-hour working session to map the workflow in detail, then I build. Every automation gets tested against your real work, repeatedly, until it's reliable. Most builds take about two weeks.

3

You take the keys

Plain-English documentation, a training session for your team, and support after launch. The system is yours: it runs in your accounts, on your data, whether or not we ever work together again.

Packages

Simple packages, honest prices.

Priced against the hours they give back. If a build saves your team 8 hours a week at a $75 billing rate, it pays for itself inside six weeks and keeps paying every month after. If the discovery call doesn't surface that kind of math for your business, I'll tell you, and there's no build.

Starter Build

$3,500 one-time

One automation, done properly. Usually the single task your team complains about most.

  • Two-hour working session on your workflow
  • One custom automation, built and tested on your real work
  • Connections to the tools it needs: email, files, data
  • Documentation your team can actually follow
  • 30 days of support after launch

Best for: testing the water with one painful recurring task, like monthly client reporting.

Keep It Sharp

$750/month

Ongoing care for an existing build. Month to month, cancel anytime.

  • Monitoring and fixes as your tools and the AI models change
  • A monthly optimization pass on every automation
  • One new automation built each quarter
  • Priority response when something needs attention

Best for: keeping a Full System sharp as your business and the technology evolve.

Start with the discovery call.

Free, 20 minutes, and genuinely a fit check, not a pitch. Bring the task that eats your week and I'll tell you what automating it would actually take.

Not a call person? Send me a note instead and I'll reply within two business days.

Fair questions

Do we need to be technical to use this?

No. If your team can use email, they can run these systems. I handle all the setup and configuration, the documentation is written in plain English, and the training session exists so nobody is left guessing.

What about our data?

Everything is built inside your own accounts, with your own logins, so your data stays yours. What I can access, and for how long, is spelled out in our services agreement before anything gets connected.

Will this replace people on my team?

In my experience it replaces the part of their week they hate, not the people. The senior person who was assembling reports goes back to the client work you actually hired them for. If someone tells you AI will run your whole business unattended, hold onto your wallet.

What happens when it breaks or the AI changes?

Software changes, AI models change, and automations need occasional care. That's what the included support window is for, and Keep It Sharp exists for the long haul. Either way you have documentation, so you're never stranded.

Why not just build it ourselves?

You can, and if you have someone eager to learn, I'll happily build the first one and hand off the knowledge. The gap is rarely access to AI. It's knowing how to make it reliable: the context, the testing, the edge cases. That's the part you're paying to skip.

Is this the same as the SEO retainers?

No. Automation builds are one-time projects with an optional maintenance plan, separate from the marketing retainers. Plenty of clients do one without the other.

The starting point

The Growth Audit

Find out exactly why your competitors outrank you, what it's costing you every month, and what to do about it. In plain English, with a plan you can execute with or without me.

$1,500 flatTwo-week turnaroundYours to keep

The teardown

Six areas. No stone unturned.

Google Business Profile

Where you actually rank in the map results for your money services, why, and what the businesses above you are doing differently.

Search visibility

The searches your customers are typing, who's winning them, and the pages you'd need to compete. Including how you show up when someone asks ChatGPT or Claude for a recommendation, because more of your customers do every month.

Website teardown

Speed, mobile experience, and the on-site fundamentals Google grades you on. I'll show you your site the way Google sees it, which is rarely the way you see it.

Conversion path

The ten seconds after someone lands on your site. Can they call you, on a phone, without hunting? You'd be surprised how often the answer is no.

Competitor gap

A side-by-side against the two or three competitors you tell me keep beating you. Not generic industry data. Your actual rivals, by name.

Reputation

Your review count, rating, and velocity against the local field, plus the realistic path to closing the gap.

The deliverable

A document worth $1,500 on its own. On purpose.

A graded scorecard

Six areas, honest grades, benchmarked against your actual competitors, not perfection.

Findings in dollar terms

Not "your domain authority is low." Instead: roughly this many people search for your service every month, here's who's capturing them, and here's what that's worth at your average job size.

A prioritized roadmap

Every recommendation ranked by impact and effort, sequenced into what to do first, next, and later. Built so you could hand it to any competent marketer, or your own team, and execute.

A 15-minute video walkthrough

I'll talk you through the whole thing so nothing needs decoding. Watch it twice, forward it to your business partner.

A fit check, before you spend a dollar

Who it's for (and who it's not)

The audit is built for you if

Your customers are worth real money (think roofs, boats, cases, patients, not lattes), you suspect Google should be sending you more business than it is, and you want the truth about why, even if some of it stings.

It's not for you if

You need leads next week (that's an ads conversation, and I'll tell you so), or you're looking for someone to manage your Instagram. I don't do social media, and I'll never pretend otherwise.

How it works

1

Book a 20-minute intro call

I'll ask about your business, your best customers, and the competitors who annoy you most. If we're not a fit, I'll say so on the call and point you somewhere useful.

2

I get to work

You'll send a few logins and answer a short form. Then I disappear for two weeks and do the teardown.

3

You get the audit

The full document, the scorecard, the roadmap, and the video walkthrough, delivered on the date we set. No surprise upsell meeting required to receive your own results.

Pick a time. Bring your skepticism.

The intro call is free, 20 minutes, and genuinely a fit check, not a pitch. If the audit isn't the right move for your business, I'll tell you on the call.

Not a call person? Send me a note instead and I'll reply within two business days.

Fair questions

Why is the audit paid when other agencies offer free ones?

A free audit is a sales document; someone has to pay for it, and it's usually you, later. A paid audit lets me spend real hours on your business and tell you the truth, including "you don't need me for this part."

What do you need from me?

About 25 minutes total: the intro call and a short form. Plus viewer access to your Google accounts and website. I'll send a checklist.

What if my online presence turns out to be fine?

Then the audit says so, tells you what to protect, and you've spent $1,500 to stop worrying. It hasn't happened yet.

Do you work outside St. Pete?

Tampa Bay and the Gulf Coast, yes. Beyond that, only if the fit is unusually good.

About

The same playbook that built one of St. Pete's biggest online businesses. Pointed at yours.

Zach Wendkos, founder of Wavelength, in St. Petersburg

I'm Zach, and I've spent nearly twenty years doing one thing: turning online attention into paying customers.

I grew up in Florida, spent the early part of my career in New York, and came back to St. Petersburg to join a local startup in its earliest days. Over nearly two decades I helped grow it into one of the largest online education businesses of its kind in the world, from first customers through a successful exit. Today I run revenue for that same business, which serves more than 3 million customers around the globe.

That growth didn't come from magic or a big-agency retainer. It came from the unglamorous fundamentals, executed relentlessly: showing up when customers search, websites that convert visitors instead of decorating the internet, and marketing measured in revenue rather than impressions.

Somewhere along the way I noticed something that bothered me. The businesses that make this city run (the contractors, the marine businesses, the practices, the firms) mostly can't get that kind of marketing. What's available to them is a choice between a national agency that treats them like account #4,317 and a freelancer learning on their dime.

Wavelength is my answer. A deliberately small practice, a handful of local clients at a time, with the same playbook I use at day-job scale. That playbook now has a newest chapter: AI systems that do a team's recurring work automatically. I build and run those systems every week in my day job, and I build them for local businesses here too.

How I work

What working with me is actually like

Small on purpose

I cap the client roster so every business gets senior attention. When you have a strategy question, you're asking the person who built the strategy, because there's nobody else here.

Structured on purpose

Fixed scope, a monthly report written in plain English, one strategy call a month. You won't hear from me daily, and that's the point: you're paying for outcomes, not activity.

Honest on purpose

If something isn't working, the report says so. If you don't need a service, I won't sell it to you. And if your biggest problem isn't marketing, I'll tell you that too, because I'd rather lose a retainer than waste your year.

Why "Wavelength"

The name is a promise. Three of them, actually.

A frequency

Your customers are out there searching right now, on Google, on Maps, and increasingly in AI tools. My job is tuning your business to the exact frequency they're searching on, so you come through clearly while your competitors sound like static.

A way of working

"On the same wavelength" is the whole point of hiring one senior operator instead of an agency. You talk directly to the person doing the work. Nothing gets lost between a salesperson, an account manager, and whoever actually touches your account.

A home

Waves belong to St. Pete. I only work with businesses here on the Gulf Coast, because knowing this market, its seasons, its storms, and its people is part of what you're paying for.

That line under the logo is a flatline breaking into a wave. It's what I do: your online presence, before and after.

Beyond the resume

I like scoreboards.

Earlier in my career I worked for the Tampa Bay Rays and IMG, and before that I captained the baseball team at Princeton. I mention this less as a credential and more as an explanation: marketing without a scoreboard is just noise, and everything I do for clients comes with a score attached.

When I'm not working you'll find me on a golf course making optimistic club selections, or somewhere around St. Pete with my dog.

See what I'd find in your business.

Every engagement starts with the Growth Audit: two weeks, a graded scorecard, and a roadmap that's yours no matter what.

Skeptics welcome.

Privacy policy

Plain English, like everything else here.
